25 teams vie for RCUAC Challenge Shields on May 20

Twenty-five water polo teams from 12 leading schools in Sri Lanka will vie for the RCUAC Challenge Shield at the Royal College pool on May 20.

The theme of the tournament is “For the Love of the Game” and is Sri Lanka’s only water polo tournament dedicated to promoting the sport among boys and girls at the under 13, under 15 and under 17 age groups.

The tournament is organized by Royal College Union Aquatic Club (RCUAC) and is sanctioned by Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) and officiated by its elite panel of referees and judges to ensure fairness and highest standards in the game.

The RCUAC started the tournament with a vision of promoting Water polo sport in as many schools as possible to build a strong pool of athletes who would represent Sri Lanka at international level.

Waterpolo is a sport requiring dedication for strength, fitness, careful planning and quick thinking.

Participants:

Girls:

Bishops College, Vishaka Vidyalaya, Ladies College, Colombo International School, Gateway College

Boys:

Royal College, St. Thomas’ College, Nalanda College, St. John’s Nugegoda, Thurstan College, D.S Senanayake College, Starfish.
