The STF has arrested four people, including two women, in connection with the murder of a person named “Aji” at Pattiya junction, Kelaniya. A pistol, believed to have been used for the murder, was also found. They were arrested on charges of aiding and abetting a murder.
The STF also seized 21 grams and 121 milligrams of heroin worth more than Rs. 200,000, for rounds of ammunition for the firearm, and three mobile phones.The suspects are between the ages of 34 and 46. They are residents of Modara Uyana, Wellampitiya, Colombo 15. They have been handed over to the Peliyagoda Police.
Police investigations have revealed that the 39-year-old victim, identified as Ariff Mohammed Hussain, alias Aji, is a criminal with underworld connections and the killing is a hit ordered by a rival gang.
