கடற்படையினரின் சுற்றிவளைப்பு: சட்டவிரோத மீன்பிடியில் ஈடுபட்ட இந்திய மீனவர்கள் சிறையில்.

நெடுந்தீவு கடற்பரப்பில் இலங்கையின் எல்லைகளைத் தாண்டி சட்டவிரோதமான முறையில் மீன்பிடியில் ஈடுபட்டதாகக் கூறப்படும் மூன்று இந்திய மீனவர்கள் கைது செய்யப்பட்டு, தற்போது விளக்கமறியலில் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

இன்று அதிகாலை கடற்படையினரால் கைது செய்யப்பட்ட இந்த மீனவர்கள், அவர்கள் பயன்படுத்திய மீன்பிடிப் படகுடன் மேலதிக நடவடிக்கைகளுக்காகக் கடற்தொழில் மற்றும் நீரியல் வளத் திணைக்களத்திடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டனர்.

அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து, இன்று முற்பகல் 11 மணியளவில் அவர்கள் ஊர்காவற்றுறை நீதவான் முன்னிலையில் ஆஜர்ப்படுத்தப்பட்டனர். வழக்கை விசாரித்த நீதவான், சந்தேகநபர்களான மூன்று மீனவர்களையும் எதிர்வரும் ஜனவரி மாதம் 7 ஆம் திகதி வரை விளக்கமறியலில் வைக்குமாறு உத்தரவு பிறப்பித்துள்ளார்.

Three Indian Fishermen Remanded Until January 7 for Poaching in Neduntheevu.

Three Indian fishermen, who were arrested on charges of illegal fishing after crossing the maritime boundary into the Neduntheevu seas, have been placed in judicial custody.

The suspects were apprehended in the early hours of today and subsequently handed over to the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources for further action. During the operation, the Sri Lanka Navy also seized the boat used by the individuals.

Following their arrest, the fishermen were produced before the Kayts Magistrate today (28th) at approximately 11:00 AM. Upon reviewing the case, the Magistrate ordered the suspects to be remanded in custody until January 7.
