Vavuniya Police arrested Jayavanitha Kasipillai, the Head of the Association of Relatives of the Disappeared, on 09 March, for pirating electricity.
Kasipillai and others have been on a continuous protest near Vavuniya town since 2017, and the police and the CEB said the protesters had obtained electricity illegally for their tent.Kasipillai would be produced before the Vavuniya Court, police said.
