108th Colombo Championship

This year’s Davis Cup hopefuls Thehan Wijemanne, Apna Perera and Ashen Silva and German national Luca Knese reached the men’s open singles quarter-finals of the 108th Colombo Championships continued on Friday. Royal College player Wijemanne beat Hasal Ahangama 6-1, 2-0 (retired) to book a semi final berth against  Knese.

Ananda player Perera beat Nimalraj Thatheuraj  6-0, 6-1 in his quarter-final encounter.

He will now meet former St. Peter’s player Ashen Silva in the semi-finals. The letter beat  Ruwan Fernando 6-0, 6-1

In his quarter final Luca Knees beat Zaidh Zihar 6-3, 6-2.The semi-finals will commence at 8.30 a.m.
