Bobby Deol is the son of Dharmendra and his first wife, Prakash Kaur. His step-mother is Hema Malini. He is the younger brother of Sunny Deol and half-brother of Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. He is married to Tanya, who is the daughter of finance guru, Dev Ahuja, the owner of 21st Century Finance.
He made his on-screen debut with the romantic film Barsaat in the year 1995, co-starring Twinkle Khanna and the film was produced by his father Dharmendra. For his role in this film, he received the Best Debut Award as Discovery of the Year at the Filmfare Awards.
Unlike his father and brother, he is not really known as an action hero. Although his breakthrough role came in the suspense thriller Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997), these days he is seen acting more in romantic roles.
