They have two daughters together. Shaam is a private person and does not share much about his personal life in public.

However, in some interviews, he has spoken about his family and his values. He has said that his wife is his biggest supporter and that he is grateful for her love and understanding. In 2020, Shaam was arrested for illegal gambling at his apartment in Chennai. However, he was later released on bail. He has not commented on the incident publicly.

Shaam began his career as a model and made his acting debut in the Tamil film 12B (2001).
