Hakeem discusses Oluvil port with Indian HC

SLMC leader Parliamentarian Rauff Hakeem and Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay on Monday (26) discussed the prevailing political and economic situation and the issues related to reviving the Oluvil fisheries port project, including the massive erosion along the coastal areas of neighbouring villages, SLMC sources said. They met at India House

The High Commissioner said that the request for the development of Oluvil Port under India’s funding scheme for fishing harbours will be considered favorably.

In this regard, a discussion will be arranged with the Fisheries Minister, Commercial Counselor of the High Commission Rakesh Pandey and senior officials of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
