Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links win inaugural Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup trophy

Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links team won the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup trophy at the Quadrangle Cup, an inter-club golf tournament that concluded at China Bay, in Trincomalee on Saturday.

Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links team captained by Air Vice Marshal Prasanna Ranasinghe won

the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup trophy, securing the highest marks in the entire tournament at the inaugural Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup, an inter-club golf tournament that concluded at the spectacular settings of China Bay, Trincomalee on Saturday.

Gamage and Michael Sathasivum received the awards for the Longest Drive and the Nearest to the Pin in the Gents’ category. Dhanushi Senadeera took the honours for the Longest Drive in the Ladies’ Category.

The award for the Best Overall Score in the gents’ category was secured by Tharindu Wickramasinghe and in the Ladies’ Category Manori Jayakodi clinched the award.

The awards of the first inter-club Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup were given away at a ceremony held at the same venue in the afternoon. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana graced the Awards Ceremony as the Chief Guest together with Charmini Pathirana. A special token of appreciation and souvenirs were presented by the Commander to Chandika Vitharana the Chief Executive Officer of Mobitel (Pvt) Limited and the captains of Golf Teams.

Eagles’ Golf Link, Royal Colombo Golf Club, Victoria Golf Resort and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club played for honours with each team consisting of 15 players inclusive of a minimum of two ladies in each team. Top ten scores from each team had been considered for the final count. The Commander participated in the First Tee Off signifying the start of the tournament.
