IGP C. D. Wickremaratne had called for an inquiry into the submission by the Keselwatta Police of a B Report to the Court against several lawyers, Police Headquarters sources said.
The IGP has tasked the Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province with the inquiry and ordered the latter to submit a report urgently.
Police Headquarters announced that the Keselwatta Police had filed the B report at issue without the knowledge of the IGP or the Police Headquarters Legal Division.
