Chanaka Perera returned to the top position with a gross score of 291 over four rounds at the Ranking Tournament of Sri Lanka Golf held from October 11 to 14 at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Course. He pipped Uchitha Ranasinghe to the second position by four strokes.
Priya Hemantha (Golf Coach A’Pura) was placed third with a gross score of 296, a single stroke behind Uchitha in a closely fought tussle. Chalitha Pushpika was placed fourth with a gross score of 317, but officially he is the second runner up of this tournament, because Priya Hemantha is a Coach and participated behalf of all Sri Lankan golf players.
The course was not easy to negotiate and the scores of the top three should be considered fair returns to these golfers. Chanaka and Uchitha are warming up to participate in the forthcoming Asia Pacific Golf Tournament in Thailand in November and should improve if they are to make the cut at this event.
