Godahewa asks SLPP leaders if they have no shame

MP Nalaka Godahewa yesterday asked the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) leaders whether they have an iota of shame for supporting the economic policies of Ranil Wickremesinghe.Godahewa said that 6.9 million people voted for Gotabaya Rajapaksa and The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) to protect and uplift state assets.

“Neither Gotabaya nor Mahinda said they would support the sale of state assets. In fact they criticized Wickremesinghe for his economic policies,” he said.

Godahewa said that in the last year SLPP leadership as well as MPs have shown that they do not care for policies and principles they were elected on. The guiding principle of the SLPP has become clinging onto power, he said.

“In parliament they support and cheer on Wickremesinghe for policies they campaigned against for decades. This is a sorry sight,” he said.
