The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka with the collaboration of the International Labour Organization and the Government of Japan initiated a programme under the project of Socioeconomic Reintegration of Sri Lankan Migrant Workers Repatriated due to the COVID-19 Outbreak. From September 2022 to July 2023, the FCCISL spearheaded this remarkable endeavor, with the joint partnership of National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) served as the training provider for the programme.

From Matara to Puttalam, the training reached regions far and wide, including Batticaloa, Anuradhapura, Kurunegala, Kandy, Jaffna, Ratnapura, Kalutara, and Galle. Notably, the project embraced inclusivity, with approximately 40 percent of trainees being females. The award ceremony of the training programme was held recently at Main Auditorium of National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA). During the event the 76 students who successfully completed the training were awarded with certificates.
