A century by Roshan Brayan and a seven wicket haul by Gayashan Shalinda saw Matara UC annihilate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by 327 runs in their State Services Cricket Association E division encounter played at the Uyanwatta Stadium on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, Matara UC amassed 369 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 40 overs. Roshan Scored 164 off 126 balls smashing 23 boundaries and three sixes while Nishshanka Pradeep scored 69 off 43 balls with nine boundaries and two sixes. Jeewan Karannagoda was the pick of the bowlers capturing four wickets.
Gayashan Shalinda captured seven wickets and Danushka Maduranga captured two wickets to bundle out the visitors for a paltry 42 in 12.1 overs.
Gayashan dislodged the stumps on five occasions and made a batsman nick one to the keeper and saw another caught at backward point. None of the visiting batsmen managed to enter double figures.
