Stasshani Jayawardena appointed to the Board of Melstacorp PLC and DCSL

Stasshani Jayawardena was recently appointed as a Board Director to Melstacorp PLC and the Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC (DCSL), a news release said.Melstacorp PLC is a diversified conglomerate, recognized as one of the most profitable organizations in the country, with business interests in beverages, plantations, telecommunication, financial services and other diversified sectors, it said.

With an annual turnover of Rs. 100 billion, DCSL is a public listed company with one of the highest market capitalization in the industry.Stasshani Jayawardena serves on the Board of Aitken Spence and heads the Tourism sector of Aitken Spence PLC inclusive of hotels, destination management and overseas travel.

With a career spanning over a decade at Aitken Spence, Stasshani is a new generation leader that wields a fresh perspective in management and leads strategic business units across the Group.She leads several key strategic teams as the Chairperson of Aitken Spence Hotel Managements; and serves on the Boards of Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings, Stassen Group, Lanka Milk Foods (CWE), Aitken Spence Aviation, and Western Power Company.

Following the latest appointments, the Board of Directors of Melstacorp PLC comprises Desamanya Harry Jayawardena (Chairman and Managing Director), Royle Jansz, N. de S. Deva-Aditya, Capt. K.J. Kahanda, Dr. A.N. Balasooriya, Hasitha Jayawardena, R. Seevaratnam, Vyjayanthi Senaratne, Stasshani Jayawardena and L.U.D Fernando.

The Board of Directors of DCSL comprises Desamanya Harry Jayawardena (Chairman and Managing Director), Capt. K.J. Kahanda (Joint Managing Director), Royle Jansz, N.de S. Deva=Aditya, Hasitha Jayawardena, Dr. A.N. Balasooriya, Ranjeevan Seevaratnam and Stasshani Jayawardena.
