The Election Commission (EC) yesterday (20) filed a motion in the Supreme Court informing the apex court of its inability to proceed with the March 09 Local Government polls due to the failure on the part of the government to allocate required funds.
The EC has informed the Supreme Court that its activities had been hampered due to the non-availability of sufficient funds, and other facilities.
Therefore, the EC was not in a position to conduct the poll, as promised to the SC, the court was told.
This has been informed in a motion filed by the Election Commission with the Supreme Court.
