Cambrian Rusandu spins Colombo South to victory

Prince of Wales College left-arm spinner Rusandu Silva captured five wickets for Colombo South Under 15s to record a 23 runs victory over Colombo North Under 15s in the Sri Lanka Cricket conducted Under 15 Youth league tournament match at MCA ground on Wednesday.

Chasing 122 runs to win Colombo North were dismissed for 98 runs as Silva grabbed five wickets for 14 runs in nine overs. His spell included two maidens. Himaru Deshan who took five wickets in their first victory on Tuesday picked up two wickets.

Sahan Rashmika and skipper Lithum Senuja were the only batsmen to reach double figures for Colombo North. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Colombo North were optimistic as skipper Lithum Senuja anchored one end. But he ran out of partners and remained unbeaten on 37 runs when they were bowled out in the 36th over.

On Tuesday, Colombo South beat Galle by 166 runs. Deshan with a five wicket haul and Rehan Peiris with a century excelled for the winners.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday Galle overcame Dambulla with 28 runs victory in a weather affected match.
