Sri Lanka teams reach quarter-finals

Sri Lanka boys’ and girls’ teams reached quarter-finals as they beat Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan respectively at the ITF World Junior Tennis Boys and Girls 14 and Under Asia/Oceania pre qualifying tournament continued at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts on Wednesday.

The boys’ team beat Lebanon 2-1 in their encounter, while girls overcame Kyrgyzstan by the same margin.

Both teams will compete in their quarter-finals today.

Boys 

1st Singles match 

Ekefteriades Yann beat Risith Somaratna 3-6, 6-3, 7-6.

2nd Singles match 

Ashlin de Silva beat Christophe  Abou Hachem 6-1, 6-2.

1st Doubles match

Mayoorsn Kubheran and Ashlin de Silva beat Elia’s Abou Rahal and Ekefteriades Yann 6-2, 6-4.

Girls 

1st Singles match 

Saara Myzaeva beat Sandithi Usgodaarachchi 6-4, 6-4.

2nd Singles match

Akesha Silva beat Eva Gavshina 7-6, 6-4

1st Doubles match

Sandithi Usgodaarachchi and Akesha Silva beat Anel Bogdanova and Saara Myzaeva 6-1, 6-2.
