Kantha Saviya marks Children’s Day in Badulla

Feroza Muzammil distributing items required by children

The “Kantha Saviya” Women’s Organization recently distributed schoolbooks, bags, stationeries, baby cots, blankets, pillows, milk powder, children’s clothes and biscuits to mark the International Children’s Day programme in the Badulla District of the Uva Province recently.

“Kantha Saviya” is operated under the A. J. M. Muzammil Foundation and it has been organising Children’s Day events in different parts of the country for several years.

Tamil Vidyalaya and Shree Ganesha Vidyalaya of the same area, including Badulla Vidyadeepa Primary School students, were given uniforms, bags and books at this year’s event. In these events held under the guidance of school principals, teachers and the students performed cultural events.

President of “Kantha Saviya’ Women’s Organization Feroza Muzammil, Mayor of Bandarawela City Janaka Nishantha Ratnayake, Secretary of Uva Provincial Education Ministry Mrs. Sandhya Apanvela including education directors, parents, well-wishers and teachers, also participated in these events.
