All-rounder Carlos Brathwaite claimed four wickets conceding just 18 runs as Kandy Falcons completed a ten run win over Jaffna Kings in an LPL fixture at Pallekele yesterday. Kandy Falcons had slumped to 119 for seven in 17 overs before Fabian Allen gave his side much needed momentum smashing 47 off 23 balls with three fours and four sixes.
The late flourish helped them to post a decent 160 for eight in 20 overs. Avishka Fernando with 33 off 20 balls and Sadeera Samarawickrama with 48 off 41 balls gave a good start to Jaffna Kings but Brathwaite ran through the middle order during a superb spell. Among his victims were Dhananjaya de Silva and Thisara Perera. Jaffna never recovered and finished on 150 for nine.
