Customs revenue exceeds Rs. 109 billion in October

The Customs had recorded its highest monthly revenue so far this year, in October, the Department media spokesman Sivali Arukgoda told journalists in Colombo on Wednesday.

The Customs had earned more than Rs. 109 billion (USD 335.3 million) in revenue in October, he said.

This year, the total Customs revenue was expected to exceed Rs. 925 billion (USD 2.84 billion), Arukgoda said.

By 31 Oct., 2023, the Customs had collected Rs. 760 billion (USD 2.33 billion) in revenue, he said.

The government has set a revenue target of Rs. 1,226 billion (USD 3.75 billion dollars) for the Customs for the current year.
