The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday (27) asked the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to submit a report as regards the probe against State Minister Diana Gamage over a complaint that she had obtained a Sri Lankan passport in spite of being a British national.
The court issued the directive consequent to a motion filed by the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) pertaining to the case initiated by Oshala Herath.The SJB has moved the court against the State Minister following the passage of the 21st Amendment, which prohibits dual citizens from becoming MPs.
